Not a city girl?

Met an interesting fellow outside of Gramercy Park Hotel (smoking)...
We xchange numbers... Cute texts follow, we are supposed to hang out...last night I get a text inviting me to hang out... I reply: on my way home, you gotta give a girl more time.
The answer: not a city girl? Lol!

...oh god..yes I guess, currently not a city girl :(. But always a city girl at heart. This is the perfect example Of my beef with new jersey: nowhere else in the world can you be so close and yet so far away. In my other life (left behind) this girl used to go to her apartment after work, walk her dogs and get ready to go out again...

This girl boards a train, along with hoards of vacant-eye zombies focused on getting on that train. She boards the train (better than the BUS) and once she is gone that 12 miles, she is gone...

The Fancytown NJ is lively enough in the summer months; after all, it's an extremely artistic, forward, happening community. Maybe. But once the weather turns, it's halloween every night here: it is dark...no street lights. Your faithful correspond has no idea what happened to the other dog owners of the summer. They are gone. The streets are empty and dark and on the few occasions I borrow my own dogs from my parents (where they stay to avoid doggie psychosis brought on by their mistress being away too long) we are the only ones making the lonely 4 block trail around the neighborhood. The waiters and owner of the popular restaurant know us; we go past and they wave...we wave back. We make our way around the popular drag and go home
